Do I need a permit to start classes?
No, but it is encouraged. You will need a valid permit to begin the driving portion.
Behind-the-Wheel
When can I start the behind-the-wheel lessons?
Before you can start behind-the-wheel driving lessons, you must have your learner's permit. To receive the permit, you must be at least 15 years old and pass the written test.
In addition, students should have driven at least 40 hours with a parent/guardian before Behind the Wheel Instruction.
Students who are close to their 16th birthday will receive priority.
Will I have the same instructor for every lesson?
You will have the same instructor unless your primary instructor makes a change.
Do you offer home pick-up and drop-off?
No. You must provide your own transportation to and from the high school for your driving lessons.
Policies
What is your refund policy?
Drivers Ed Fees are not refundable.
*Written requests due to unforseen health concerns may be submitted to their assigned instructor for consideration*
Can I take Drivers Ed with any school in our district?
You must register for Drivers Ed at the high school that you attend or will attend.
Do you charge late, cancellation, or no show fees?
Currently there are no late, cancellation or no show fees. However, this may be considered moving forward.

What is the cost of Drivers Ed?
$235 Which Includes:
Registration and Software: $15
Classroom: $55 (Face to Face and Online)
Behind the Wheel: $140
Road Test: $25
There will not be additional charges to pay by credit card.
Road Test Retake $25
What if I have a fee waiver?
Current school year fee waiver will cover the cost of driver's education. You will need to have a valid and current copy of the fee waiver to upload when you register for the driver's education program. If you do not have the valid fee waiver copy to upload you will not be allowed to register without payment.
You can receive a copy of the fee waiver from the front office of your current school that you are attending.

Why am I being asked to verify my email before paying?
To protect against credit card fraud and automated "bot" activity, we require a quick email verification before completing payment.
What do I need to do?
- Click "Send Confirmation Link"
- Check your email (student or parent-either works)
- Click the link
- Return to the payment screen and click submit
Will I lose my payment information?
No-your credit card details will still be there when you return.
What if I don't complete the verification?
The payment will not go through until verification is completed.
Why is this necessary?
Unfortunately, some systems are targeted by bots testing stolen credit cards. This step ensures a real person is completing the transaction and protects both you and our platform.

Do you accept students from outside of Box Elder School District?
No, we only allow students who live within our school boundaries and will attend Box Elder or Bear River High Schools.
*Priority will be give to students who are currently attending these schools.
What if I want to go to a private company?
You are welcome to go through a private company. However, once you have paid to attend with BESD, refunds will not be issued.
In addition, if you choose to start with a private company, you will need to finish with the private company. If you start with a private company but want to move to BESD, you will start from the beginning of our program.
